"Open Mic Night"
So some how I get rigged into performing at an open mic night. We all know I don't sing so thank god I didn't have to sing but instead I clanked two tin spice cans together like cymbals... We performed "Whip It" by Devo under the cover name Pevo. Pevo in Czech means "one beer". Its what you say at a restaurant or bar... Well after getting rigged into the performance group and "practicing" for 20 min, Jess and I got dressed in our Devo costumes... black turtleneck, black leggings, black boots, 80's sunglasses and wait... plastic dog food bowls on our heads like the Devo hats... It was too much. In such a get up, I thought we would be going to a loud bar and be silly and funny and just make a fool of ourselves. No apparently, we got invited to this open mic the night before by a Czech, which is a big deal, and he just told us where to go. It turned out to be more like a dinner theater, catered food, wine, candles on the table... the whole nine yards and the crazy Americans walk in... Their "open mic" performances consisted of funny skits, poetry, guitars and even a guy with a saxaphone... We looked so silly, but it was an awesome experience for only my 2nd night in Prague. Hopefully the rest of the trip will be just as eventful!
